ubiquitous computing is the future?

microsoft has made a seriers of demos of their concept of future computing technology. I must admit that they're quite interesting, although not radically new. (Despite all the fancy stuff, I like the "all in one card" concept especially...) A potential future might it be, I personally feel a bit unsettled...

It also reminds me an anime I watched 1 month ago called Dennou Coil, in which people wear a kind of glasses that projects virtual reality into physical world. (aka Augmented Reality ). Compared to the microsoft version, I feel a bit more comfortable about this one. In dennou coil, one can just take off the glasses and you're offline, period. The glasses is the only portal to the virtual world. But in the microsoft version, every object is a possible portal, and there's "nowhere to hide".
